San Diego Chess Club 2009 Championship

Expert John Funderburg won the title for the second time. It was virtually a photo finish with John Funderburg coming from behind the leaders to beat Todd Smith. We all expected John to make a good showing, after he won the title in 2007 on tie-breaks over Senior Master Marc Duesterwald...

Southern California Senior State Championship

Master Bruce Baker won his second Southern California Chess Federation Senior (over-50) Championship title. This event was played on April 18-19, 2009.

Junior (Under-50) Tournament

Young Varun Krishnan, 11-years old, won the concurrent "Junior" event that was held with the SCCF Senior Championship.
